This year sees the introduction of workshops to the Manchester Leather Weekend programme following the recent success of workshops at the LGBT Foundation. We’ll also be seeing the kink cafe held here, serving refreshments and baked goods. Please note the following times are subject to change.

Room 1

The Bullwhip Workshop – 11:00 to 12:00
Daniel Dumont, the Secretary of the ECMC, the European Confederation of Motorcycle Clubs will demonstrate how to effectively use the bullwhip and provide safety tips for its use.

The Wolfpack – Bondage Masterclass – 12:30 to 15:00
Come and learn the basics of bondage. we teach the knots and techniques that form the foundation of great bondage as well as how to use them in play

Flog – 15:30 to 16:30
Flogging – at its best – can and should create a deep, hard and profound interaction, and in this MLW workshop, Brew Hunter of London’s Mastery introduces the floggers and instruments that are used in this one particular aspect of BDSM, demonstrates how to start giving or receiving a flogging; plus suggestions on how to create a scene, how to develop a scene and how to end and round-off a scene, both successfully and safely.

NoSafeWord Show: The United Nations of Kinkdom
In this unique discussion the NoSafeWord’s Sparky & Daddy Tony discuss the similarities and differences between the scenes in the US and Europe with MLM President Daddy T and the audience. This will also be aired as a NoSafeWord podcast.

Mancsbound does Mummification 11:00 to 12:00
Learn the basics, the fun, the pitfalls and safety tips from Manchester’s Mancbound organiser Terry, who will offer an advice sheet for you to take away.

Bootblacking and Leather Care – 12:30 to 13:30
An easy guide to the care of Leatherwear and Bootblacking for the Leather community

BDSM: control & trust – 14:00 to 15:00
Exploring trust and affection in BDSM with some demos to illustrate BDSM as two-way play with power & submission.

Forbidden Sex: Sado Masochism, Art and the Law – 15:30 to 16:30
This presentation looks at the world of art and fetishism in the historical and political context of AIDS crisis in America and Operation Spanner in the UK. We look at how these may affect the reception of extreme performance and the perception of BDSM practitioners who are considered harmful for our society.

Inside Leather History – A Fireside Chat – 17:00 to 18:00
In a special two-part live-on-stage interview chat host and co-producer Douglas O’Keeffe from Chicago will be speaking with Manchester’s Leather Daddy Ian and Joe King. Ian and Joe will be individually interviewed then will be brought together on stage for a joint question and answer session, with each interview lasting about 45 to 50 minutes and for the end Q&A to last about 15 minutes. Inside Leather History; A Fireside Chat is co-produced by host Douglas O’Keeffe, Mistress Joanne Gaddy, and Vonn Tramel. The interviews are filmed for historical preservation in the U.K and at the Leather Archives and Museum in Chicago. Inside Leather History; A Fireside Chat is a program designed to preserve for posterity the amazing and dynamic histories of Leather community notables.
